I’m fairly useless on Photoshop so the idea of somehow creating wordless movie posters off my own back was a bit daunting, so I cheated and Google helped me out yet again. I came across this idea a few months back when the Zoom quiz phenomena was peaking and I was desperately hunting for new ideas. It’s a round guaranteed to contain plenty of WTF moments and funny answers. Slip the images into a slideshow and get your friends and family to guess what they’re looking at. Who hasn’t watched the odd episode of Antiques Roadshow, Bargain Hunt or Pawn Stars and enjoyed taking a guess on what certain strange old antiques were used for in days of yore and how much they’re worth? If you like the idea of conducting your very own Antiques based quiz round simply track down some strange old artefacts on websites like Selling Antiques and Skinner & Hyde. The mask of choice in 2020 is obvious but this idea can also be adapted at Halloween with scary masks and Christmas with a Santa hats and beards. Download a selection of photos of celebrities, sports stars or even friends and family, Photoshop a mask onto their faces and put together a slide show for your guessing quizzers. In all honesty there were easily enough suggestions to keep most quizzers going for months, but I know how easily bored some people get and how popular the first blog was – so this is the inevitable sequel. July’s blog went through quiz round ideas including Celebrity Tattoos, Weird Items On Wish, Kids Descriptions, Guess the Quote, Kazoo Intros, Dingbats, Guess the Biscuit, Facebook Statuses, Doodle From Memory and Faceswop. I’ve hosted five or six quizzes myself too and I’ve found that a bit of variety doesn’t go amiss, especially now most folk are either seasoned quizzers or bored of the same old general knowledge, sports rounds and ‘name that tune’ shenanigans. Like plenty of folk the world over I’ve been involved in loads of quizzes over the past nine months and it’s been a great way of escaping the lockdown blues. Back in July I posted up a blog titled ‘ Ten great quiz round ideas for Zoom’.
